About Our Organization

The Initiative for Breaking Barriers in Development for Women and Youth (BBID) is a registered non-governmental organization focused on improving the living standards of disadvantaged communities in Nigeria, with a particular emphasis on women and youth. Headquartered in Abuja, BBID implements interventions across all six geopolitical zones of Nigeria. We operate as a management entity that supports target beneficiaries and partners in the assessment, design, funding, and execution of pro-poor development projects. Our organizational culture is grounded in strategic partnerships and collaboration.

Over the past decade, BBID has gained extensive experience working with partner organizations and funding agencies across Nigeria in areas such as systems strengthening, capacity building, community engagement, monitoring and evaluation, social research, HIV/AIDS prevention, and the provision of logistics and administrative support for health-related workshops and campaigns. We employ participatory and rights-based approaches in delivering project management, logistics support, and other development services to communities across Nigeria.
